The word facilitation comes from the French word, Facile, which means ‘to make easy’. Facilitation is the process of helping groups progress towards a destination, facilitation makes it easier to get there.
A facilitated session is an organized meeting where a set of facilitation tools are used to guide the discussion. Every facilitated session has a specific purpose and it is the facilitator’s responsibility to ensure the group arrives at a result. It is through the process of dialogue and conversation that the result is accepted by all participants.
